30 already???

I have spent the weekend celebrating my 30th birthday. I know wow already! People keep asking me "do you feel old", "does it make you sad".... No not really, what is more surprising is that I have 4 kids 6 and under by the age of 30. I have to say if I had to do it all over again I wouldn't change a thing! Travis and I are going to be still "young" once our kids are gone. (Well maybe, my parents are in their 50's and they still have kids at home).

Friday night my Mom, Sister and sis-law threw me a 80's themed birthday party. It was so much fun and I can't believe all the time and love they put into it. The pictures will say it all!

Saturday night Trav had my mom and Dave come over to babysit the kids and he took me to the Melting Pot. I had no idea where we were going, needless to say I was SOOOO surprised!. It was so nice sitting in the quiet restaurant just the two of us talking and eating without any interruptions. Of course we came home right after we ate because we were to full to do anything else. We got home just in time to put the kids in bed! Lucky us right? My kids have the best grandparents, they showed up with pizza, crunch n munch, pretzels and stuff to make root beer floats.

I have the most amazing people in my life. When I re-read this post years from now I want to remember how blessed I was and how wonderful my life was at 30!

Lanie's first tooth!

Well it is almost midnight and I can't sleep. I have been a night owl these days and I am not sure why. I guess it is the quiet house that I am enjoying.

Yesterday Lanie turned 6 months old, I have to admit I was very sad. I was emotional all day about how quickly she is growing and the other kids. I just want time to stand still sometimes. So to top it all off, last night Travis found Lanie's first tooth poking through:( And since I am writing this blog so I can remember these times, I actually teared up!

I will be taking her for her check up soon and I will post how much she weighs!

Tonight we took the kids to Mcd's and then to walmart to get Camden' school supplies and a few things for me to get started homeschooling the little ones. $75 later!!!!! And most of that was for Camden. Crazy how much things cost these days. It makes me sad for the families that have multiple children and those that can't afford it.

My 30th birthday is coming up and my friends and family are throwing me a 80's themed party Friday night! I can't believe that I am going to be 30 and I have 4 children and been married almost 9 years. I wouldn't change a thing.

E and P are doing great, they are excited about our homeschooling adventure. They keep saying the expedition is our school bus! E can't wait to do school each day, I pray that she continues to love learning.

Home-preschool and Lanie update

Perry was acting like a baby so Trav treated him like one by putting him in Lanie's highchair.

So it is almost time for school to start and we have made a big decision in the past few weeks. We have decided to keep E and P home and do preschool at home (home preschool). I just think it is going to be easier on all of us. It is not fun to load up all the kids multiple times a day just for a couple hours at preschool. I am going to be purchasing a home school curriculum and do my best to prepare E for Kindergarten next year. We have been working on getting our school room ready and getting the kids excited! I hope that this is the right thing to do and that I am successful in teaching them. Travis and I think that this is the best for our family during this season of our lives. Camden is going to continue to go to PLP for 1st grade.

Lanie Marie

My girl will be six months on Sunday, I just can't believe it! She is so fun and I can say all 5 of us are so in Love with her. I don't know how many times a day I say "get out of her face". They are all over her all the time! She doesn't seem bothered by it too much. We have started baby food this week and she is doing pretty well. C, E and P think it is so cool that she is eating food now. Lanie is also so vocal! Trav and I think that she has learned to be loud from her bigger siblings. She fits right it and we love it!

I have been working every free chance I get on our consignment sale. It is 4 weeks away!!

Lanie Laughing- music to my ears

Our 4th child Lanie Marie has been so fun these past weeks. She has been giggling, smiling at everyone and everything, she loves to "talk" and she is getting loud. I think she knows she needs to speak up if she wants to be heard over her siblings. She is 5 months old now 16lbs and a chub of love!

My new blogging adventure

Today is Aug 4th 2010, here is what is going on my life :

  • 4 kids six and under Camden James 6 Ellie Katherine 4 Perry Mclane 3 Lanie Marie 5months

  • Organizing for my Fall Consignment Sale (http://www.katskidsale.vpweb.com/)

  • Camden will be starting 1st grade at PLP on Aug 30th

  • Ellie and Perry will be going to preschool 2 days a week starting Aug18th

  • I have started weight watchers today and hope to quit my coke cola addiction

  • Our summer has consisted of many days in our pjs, long afternoon naps, late bedtimes, lots of sleep overs at Nana's, pool, splash pads and Tons of days tearing up the house!!! It has been almost too hot to do anything outside unless it involved water.

  • I had big plans for the summer, like lots of field trips and play dates but here I sit on Aug 4th and we have don't much of anything to speak of. But if you ask the kids it has been a great summer and we have had fun.
  • I get asked alot if I am ready for them to go back to school and honestly I am not ready for early mornings and schedules again. I love that we don't have to be anywhere at anytime.

  • I have decided that life is passing by so quickly and I cannot seem to capture how fast the kids are growing. I want this blog to be a log of what our life is like. I know I am going to look back and forget. So I am going to TRY and update this blog for myself more consistently. I am not good at writing , I don't like to read what I write, I never have. So it is going to be a bunch of random thoughts and pictures but it will be honest.

  • I really want to keep writing but Travis sounds like he needs my help putting the kids to bed. More soon....
